by The Brothers Middleton (2007)
Kiss a frog - perhaps it will turn into a handsome prince! Kissing the frog refers to taking investment risk. If you want your money to work for you then this is something you need to be prepared to do. The uglier the frog the higher the potential return (or loss).
Where and when is a good time for people to learn about investment markets, the types of investment income (interest, rent and profit) and all the pros and cons of each type of investment?
The answer must be the sooner the better. However many books about investment are a bit dry and do not engage the reader. They are also often technical, giving inexperienced readers the idea that the subject is just too complicated for them to understand.
That is why this book is so refreshing and enjoyable. Very cleverly written as a Goldilocks sequel, unauthorised I'm sure! After selling her bear story Goldilocks embarks on a journey to learn about investment. She consults a series of experts and builds up her understanding until she finally is armed with the necessary knowledge to go and invest with confidence in products that she feels confident in.
The financial adviser Owl gets her started, the tortoise talks about interest and how credit works, the hares are the stockbrokers and the three not so little pigs are the property investors.
Educational and readable, enjoy then pass it on to the kids.
